Description
This shippon, located about 10 metres south-west of Higher Venton Farmhouse, is likely from the 17th or 18th century and is constructed of granite rubble. The roof is covered with corrugated iron. The shippon occupies the right-hand end of the building, with a through-passage featuring wide opposing doors to the left. It is a single storey structure, with the shippon lofted. The building has been extended at the west end of an earlier shippon, and its rear wall shows signs of several construction phases, including a straight joint and a built-in round column. The interior of the shippon is concreted, and the roof timbers are from the 20th century. This building is included for its group value.
