Description

This headstone, dated 1785, is located approximately 1.5 metres to the south of the Church of St Thomas in Sourton. It commemorates John Brook and is made of slate. The headstone features a shaped top, which is broken off, with scrolled sides and a winged angel's head carved at the top. Below the inscription, there is a rhyming epitaph presented in upper and lower case lettering with serifs.
