Description

This is a headstone dated 1749, located approximately 2.5 metres west of the tower of the Church of St Thomas in Sourton. It commemorates Agnes Pleace and is made of slate. The headstone features an ogee top with scrolled sides, a decorative carved border, and a winged angel's head at the top. Below the inscription, which is presented in both upper and lower case letters with serifs, there is a rhyming epitaph.
