Description

This headstone, dated 1783, commemorates Joseph Pleace and is located approximately 2.5 metres north-west of the tower of the Church of St Thomas in Sourton. It is made of slate and features a straight head with scrolled corners. The headstone has a decorative carved border and includes a winged angel's head at the top. Below the inscription, there is a rhyming epitaph presented in upper and lower case lettering with serifs.
