Description

Tudor Cottage is a detached house from the 17th century that has been modified. It features painted rubble or cut stone, painted brick, and unpainted irregular alternating quoin stones, with a concrete tile roof. The house has an L-shaped plan due to the addition of a brick wing at the back, and it is divided into two parts by a gabled two-storey porch. To the left of the porch is a one-bay section with one and a half storeys, which has a small three-light gabled dormer above a two-light 19th-century casement window with bars. To the right is a two and a half storey section that includes a stone string course and a dropped keystone above a ground floor window. This section also has a small three-light dormer with a replacement window directly above a two-light casement window with bars, which is mirrored below. A 20th-century door is located under a flat hood at the central porch. Inside, there is a wide fireplace on the left with a chamfered slightly pointed arch, deep chamfered beams, and some framed partitions with wattle and daub on the upper floor.
