Description
Old Tower Cottage is a detached house that likely dates back to the 16th century and has undergone significant modifications. The building features a timber frame, with the east front and gable facing the road constructed from coursed rubble. It has a half-hipped thatched roof and a stack located near the north end. The structure is L-shaped due to a later extension to the original cottage. It stands at one and a half storeys, with the gable facing the road featuring a single light casement above a 20th-century V-shaped oriel window. The east front has a 20th-century door and various casements, including a two-light dormer, all beneath the thatch. Some heavy timber framing is visible inside. This cottage is primarily included for its group value, as it appears to have been part of a group of laborers' cottages in the original village, which was associated with the old church, now only represented by its tower.
