Description

ASHLEWORTH QUAY LANE SO 8025-8125 7/24 Colchester monument, in the church- yard, about 2.5m north of north-west corner of transept, Church of St Andrew and St Bartholomew GV II Chest tomb. Colchester, probably early C19. Stone. Flat lid with slightly raised rectangular section in centre, moulded edge. Corner Tuscan pillars; raised, reeded border to rectangular panel on sides and ends; moulded base, on wide stone base, originally carrying railings. Commemorates Colchester family, earliest dated Stephen, died 1746.
