Description

41 and 42 Bishop's Walk are semi-detached estate houses, dated and initialled J.Y./1872 on the stack, with 20th-century extensions. They are constructed of red brick and feature a fishscale red tile roof and a brick stack. The buildings have a 'T'-shaped plan and are two storeys high with a symmetrical twin-gabled facade that has two windows. There are lean-to porches on either side of the facade, with one, two, and three-light windows that have patterned glazing and stopped limestone hoods over the ground floor windows. The doors, which are 19th-century planks, face away from the facade and lead to the lean-to porches, which have single-pitched roofs supported by wooden brackets. The gables are half-hipped, and there is a central composite stack. The interior has not been inspected. These houses are a late pair that are carefully composed and detailed, located within the Forthampton Estate.
