Description

The monument to Ann Cotterill is a chest tomb located in the churchyard of the Church of St. Michael, approximately 9 metres south of the chancel. It commemorates Ann Cotterill, who died in 1759, the wife of John Cotterill, a yeoman of the parish, as well as other members of the Cotterill family. The tomb is made of limestone and sandstone and features paired fielded panels on both sides. The north side includes inscriptions dedicated to John and Ann Cotterill, while the right-hand inscription panel on the south side honors Ann, the daughter of Ann and William Cotterill. There are sunken panels at either end of the tomb.
