Description
The stables located approximately 5 meters west of Baldwin's Farmhouse are a stable block dating from the 17th century, constructed in three phases. The earliest section features coursed squared and dressed limestone with squared and dressed quoins, and a brick gable end facing the road. The side facing the farmhouse has a stone slate roof, while the opposite side is covered with slate. The building has a long rectangular plan, with the earliest part closest to the road having been rebuilt at the first floor level and at the gable end, along with later extensions added to the north gable end.
On the east front, there is a plank door flanked by small raking buttresses at the ground floor of the early range. Above, a plank pitching door is accompanied by ventilation slits leading to the loft. The stable door is flanked by two small unglazed two-light windows with heavy-pegged frames, and there is a very small window located below the eaves on the upper right. The interior has not been inspected.
