Description
The gate piers and supporting flank walls, located approximately 200 metres northeast of Postlip Hall, date from the late 19th century. The gate piers are made of limestone ashlar, measuring about 400 millimetres square and standing 4 metres high, with a clear opening of 3 metres. Each pier features a square shaft on a single moulded plinth, a frieze, and a deep cornice capped by a ball finial on an elaborate moulded square support. On either side of the piers, there are short lengths of wall constructed from squared limestone with weathered coping. Currently, no gates remain, and the right-hand pier is overgrown with ivy. Additionally, part of the cornice on the left-hand pier is broken and displaced.
