Description
This is an unidentified chest tomb from the 17th century located in the churchyard of the Church of St. Michael, approximately 0.5 meters south of the chancel. It is made of limestone and features a partially legible inscription, which includes Latin text, on the south side within a sunken rectangular panel. The initials "E.F." and "M.F." appear below the inscription, with a small simple incised skull beneath "E.F." and a heart shape beneath "M.F." The initials "E.F." also have a heart shape between the letters. The north side and west end of the tomb are fragmentary. The tomb has a thick capping with a moulded margin. It is recognized as an important early monument, although it was noted to be in poor condition during a survey in April 1985.
