Description
A stableblock and open-fronted cart store, located approximately 10 metres north of Uckington Farmhouse. The stableblock was built around 1818, as indicated by a limestone plaque with the initials 'A.L.' and the date in the gable end facing the farmhouse. The building is constructed of brick, with a red tile roof and a single brick stack. It follows an 'L' shape, and connects to an open-fronted stone structure to the north, creating a 'T'-shaped plan overall. The stableblock is a single storey with a loft; it has stable doors and slatted windows with blind segmental heads on the ground floor, and pitching windows to the loft. Stone steps lead up to a plank door in the loft of the right gable end. The interior has not been inspected. The stableblock is positioned opposite the entrance front of the farmhouse and appears to be as originally constructed.
