Description
The John Byron monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard of the Church of St Mary Magdalene. It commemorates the Reverend John Byron, who died in 1878, along with two of his daughters, who died in 1851 and 1858. The tomb is made of sandstone and stands flat, having originally been enclosed by a cast-iron railing. It features inscriptions on three sides and has a capping with a moulded margin. At the top, there is a broken fluted column.
