Description

Home Farmhouse is a former farmhouse dating to the 17th century, with a reused datestone indicating 1631 and initials 'R.H * A-'. The building is constructed of limestone rubble and square-panelled timber framing with rendered infill, and has an artificial stone slate roof. It features a single brick stack. The original 'T'-shaped plan includes the Gable End, and it is joined to Home Cottage, which is not listed. The farmhouse is two storeys and has an attic. The front elevation features two 3-light stone-mullioned casements with stopped hoods on the ground floor, a former 2-light stone-mullioned casement with a double-chamfered surround where the mullion has been removed, and single and two-light casements, along with a 3-light oriel window on the first floor. A large 20th-century weatherboarded dormer is located close to the ridge. A central early studded plank door has a Tudor-arched surround. Further stone-mullioned casements and a Tudor-arched doorway are present on the rear elevation. The axial stack is a composite design with four shafts. The interior has not been inspected.
