Description

Fieldgate House is a large house dating from the late 18th to early 19th century. It is constructed of coursed squared and-dressed limestone, with a concrete tile roof and brick stacks. The house has a rectangular plan, with a later lean-to extension to the rear. The south side features a flat-roofed porch, which is not of particular interest. The main facade has two storeys and an attic, and is punctuated by four window bays. Most windows are 2-light stone mullioned casements with stopped hoods, some likely replaced in the 19th century. A single 3-light casement with a hood is located to the far right on the ground floor, and a similar casement is situated on the far left. Three 2-light gabled eaves dormers, featuring plastic casements, are visible in the roof. Gable-end stacks are present. The interior of the house has not been inspected.
