Description

Tarrens Farm is a detached farmhouse dating from the mid-18th century, with additions from the late 18th and early 19th centuries. The main body is constructed of red brick, with the left gable end rendered. It has slate and red tile roofing, and rendered stacks. A two-storey rectangular main body features a four-window facade. The windows are 19th-century cross windows with wood mullions and two-light casements incorporating horizontal glazing bars. All windows have gauged brick heads. A brick band runs between the ground and first floors and continues around the rear extension. The front door is a 20th-century six-panel design with the upper four panels glazed and a flat leaded canopy supported by fretwork brackets. The original front door was off-centre to the left, but has been blocked and replaced with a window. The rear windows are similar to those at the front. A deep hollow-moulded eaves cornice is present at the front, and a projecting stack is situated at the left gable end of the main body. A left gable-end stack is also present on the rear extension. The interior has not been inspected.
