Description
Lower Farm is a detached house dating from the mid 17th century with a 20th-century extension. The main part of the house is constructed from coursed squared and dressed limestone, while the extension is rendered. It features an artificial stone slate roof and has the stump of an ashlar stack on the main body, along with a stone stack on the extension. The building has an 'L'-shaped plan and stands two storeys high with an attic.
The main facade has three windows, with two small gables above featuring single-light casements that have hollow-moulded surrounds on the first floor. The ground floor includes a mix of single, two, and three-light casements, also within hollow-moulded surrounds, except for a 20th-century stone-mullioned window on the right. To the left, there is a 20th-century panelled door set within a segmental-headed surround. The extension has 20th-century stone-mullioned windows, and all windows are fitted with 20th-century leaded panes. The house also has gable-end stacks.
