Description

This 18th-century building originally served as a general boat store or warehouse, and was formerly a tannery drying house. Constructed of brick with horizontal weatherboard cladding on timber framing, it features a tile roof and a rectangular form with half-hipped ends. It was likely open to the ground floor, supported by piers, in its original design. Corner piers of brick support a heavy bressumer on the north side, featuring a range of infill panels. The north side also has a brick wall containing a regular pattern of ventilation slits, arranged in six rows, alongside two casement windows with horizontal bars set within segmental heads. A plank loading door is located to the left. The south end has a boarded gable with a rectangular window, formerly a loading door, while the north end has a boarded gable over corrugated iron. The west side has a completely boarded upper floor. The interior, though much modified and extended through the west side, retains heavy beams and joists.
