Description

Nos 3 and 3A on Hailes Street is a house and shop that dates from the 16th or 17th century. It features a timber frame that is rendered and has a Welsh slate roof. The building has two storeys and an attic, with a small gabled dormer containing a two-light casement window above a larger two-light window with a wooden mullion and rectangular leaded panes. On the ground floor, there is a plate glass shop front set on a stone stall riser, which includes a hexagonal bay and two 20th-century glazed doors. At the back, there is a heavy stone stack at the eaves, and the slope is covered in concrete tiles.
