No. 5 Hailes Street is a house and shop that dates from the 16th or 17th century. The building is rendered and has a Welsh slate roof. It is two storeys high with an attic. The front features a three-light 19th-century casement window above a 19th-century plate glass shop front, which includes a fascia supported by consoles. There is a 20th-century glazed door.
