Description
Abbots Lodge is a detached house built in the mid to late 18th century, with later additions from the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed of brick and features a red tile roof with brick stacks. The main body of the house is rectangular and has an 18th-century facade. To the left, there is a 19th-century extension, while to the right, there are two 18th-century extensions that are positioned at right angles to the main body at the rear. There is also a 20th-century extension at the rear left, which is not of special interest.
The facade of the main body consists of two storeys and includes a cellar at the right-hand end. It features two semi-circular bay windows, each with three 12-pane sash windows that have triple limestone keystones. The central entrance is a 6-panel door with a fanlight, situated under a gabled canopy, with a 12-pane sash window above. The left extension has two windows and is also lit by 12-pane sashes with triple keystone lintels. There is a stack at the right gable end and another stack at the former left gable end. The interior has not been inspected.
