Description
Jaxons Farmhouse is a Grade II listed farmhouse, likely dating from the late 16th century, and reputed to have a datestone from 1575. It may have originally been timber-framed but is now faced in brick. The roof is a mansard style covered with stone slates and features a hipped left end, a large brick stack on the right, and a small brick ridge stack. The building is a single range of two storeys and an attic, with a rear wing that is probably from the 19th century on the left.
The facade includes two 20th-century three-light large casement windows with concrete lintels, and a 20th-century vertical battened door situated between them, which is sheltered by a gabled porch hood. A brick dentil course is present but obscured by a fascia. There is a hipped dormer on the left end and two dormers at the rear, all featuring leaded casements. The interior is not accessible but may hold interest.
