Description

King's Orchard is a small detached house, likely built in the early 17th century, with a rear extension added in the 20th century. The house features square panel timber-framing with rendered and painted brick infill set on a stone and brick plinth. The rear wing is constructed of brick, and the roof is tiled. A large brick lateral stack is located at the rear, while the original stack has been removed.

The house was originally a single range of two storeys and an attic, with the rear wing creating a T-shape. The south front displays a central shingled gable with projecting eaves. It has a four-light diamond wood mullion window above a five-light window in the centre, with a two-light window to the left and a three-light window to the right. There is a studded plank door to the right of the five-light window, although some of the windows and framing have been partially renewed.

The right gable end is mostly faced with brick. The left gable end originally featured three oriel windows; the lower two remain, along with part of the attic oriel, which is set in a timber-framed gable supported by diagonal and downward curving braces. The attic once had a very small four-light oriel, but now only notches for the mullions remain, with the glazing replaced by a recessed two-light window. On the first floor, there is a three-light square oriel above a ground floor canted four-light window, both topped with tiles.
