Description
Yew Tree Cottage (north end) is the northern part of a former farmhouse, which has been divided into two cottages, both named Yew Tree Cottage. The south part has been completely altered and is not of special interest. The cottage possibly dates back to the 16th century and features three pairs of crucks, likely raised crucks, which are exposed at the north end. It has a timber frame that is completely rendered. The steeply pitched roof is covered in double Roman tiles and was formerly thatched, featuring a large rendered ridge stack with an offset, made of brick. On the west side, there is a true dormer or small gable with a former three-light oriel on brackets, which is now flush glazed but retains two vertical timber mullions and a tiled top. The other windows are from the 19th or 20th century, and there is a small gabled porch with a half-glazed four-panel door on the east side.
