Description
College Farmhouse is a farmhouse, reputedly dating to the late 16th or early 17th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed with roughcast facing over a chamfered dressed stone plinth, featuring large flush quoins to the right side, and has a slate roof. The end stacks are likely to be stone, with moulded cornices. A timber-framed wing formerly existed, but has now been removed.
The farmhouse comprises a single range, with a single storey and an attic. The front elevation has a plain four-light stone mullion window to the right, a two-light window to the left, and a 20th-century two-light wooden casement window to the far left. A central, gabled porch dating to the 20th century provides access to a plank door. Two gabled dormers, each with two lights, are visible on the eaves. The rear elevation has three dormers and 20th-century casement windows. The gable end facing the road features three small, scattered, single stone-framed lights, which may have originally illuminated a newel stair. A conservatory, probably dating to the 20th century, is situated to the rear. The interior is not accessible but may be of historical interest.
