Description
This small barn and cowhouse, built in 1692 by John Rogers, is located immediately northeast of Round House Farmhouse. It features square panel timber-framing with brick infill set on a deep stone plinth, topped with a thatched roof that is half-hipped at both ends and has a decorative ridge. The structure is a single small rectangle with one storey and a loft. The front has three doors: two on the left and one in the centre, all with shallow arches and plank doors, while there is a plain opening to the right with a plank door and a square shuttered opening above. The upper floor has slit vents in the brick. The left-hand return wall shows some daub and lath in the upper panels and has a small square loft opening. Inside, there is a raised brick floor with a first floor on both sides of the internal partition wall.
