Description

The Old Vicarage is a former vicarage that has been converted into a private detached house. It is located at the edge of a park near the path to the Church of St. Peter. The building is believed to have been constructed in 1836 by Fulljames for Reverend E.H. Niblett. It features ashlar stonework and a stone slate roof, with square or polygonal grouped ashlar flues on offset stacks that have moulded cornices. Designed in the Tudor style, the structure is nearly square and has complex gabled elevations with two storeys and an attic. There is likely a single-storey service wing to the left, which also has an attic.

The fenestration is scattered and consists mainly of one, two, and three-light stone mullions with square hoodmoulds, and the building has coped verges with kneelers. The north front includes a single-storey gabled porch to the right, featuring a Tudor archway and enriched carved and painted spandrels. The windows in the wing behind the porch have arched lights, while the left side has plainer windows and an additional Tudor arched door that is accessed by steps. Both doors are vertically battened, and the service wing has similar fenestration. A complete external inspection of the property is not accessible.
