Description

Angeston Grange is an early 19th-century detached dwelling, situated on the north side of Dursley Road in Uley. It is a large, rambling example of the Picturesque Cottage style. The south-western front presents two main facets: a larger section to the left, with two storeys and four varied gables featuring decorative bargeboards, and a smaller projection to the right, displaying a boldly projecting half-hipped gable and a set-back verandah supported by single wooden posts. Numerous stacks are present, with twisted and decorated flues, and one deep stack incorporates a bell within a lancet window opening. Windows are predominantly 2- and 3-light, with a small hipped dormer and a two-storey canted bay window capped with stone. The main entrance is located on the east side, through a plank door within a 2-centred arch, set within a porch with bargeboards beneath a small tower with a steeply pitched hipped capping. The interior remains unexamined.
