Description
Thatch Cottage is a dwelling that likely dates back to the 16th century or earlier. It features painted brick with some remaining timber framing on the north side and has a thatched roof. The cottage is 1½ storeys high and consists of three bays, with brick stacks located at the right gable and off-centre to the left. The openings have been altered, with three windows and a dormer on the north side and four windows on the south side, along with a modern door positioned to the left of centre.
Inside, the cottage has two pairs of crude frames in the centre bay and two rows of purlins that include mortices for wind bracing. The ground floor's centre room has a wide fireplace with a cambered lintel, and the original stairs have been partitioned off.
