Description

The Clissold Monument is located in the churchyard approximately 20 metres west of the tower of the Church of All Saints in Bisley Village. This monument consists of a ledger slab and a headstone. The headstone dates from the 17th century, while the plate is dated 1763. It is made of limestone and features a brass plate. The lower face of the headstone is plain, with a figure of a woman mourner depicted above. The panel is flanked by crude moulded columns, each topped with a putto. The plate on the ledger slab is inscribed in memory of Jane Clissold, who died in 1763.
