Description

The Golden Heart is a house that was formerly an inn, likely built in the early 18th century but has undergone significant modifications in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of coursed squared limestone and features a low-pitched Welsh slate roof. The building has a long facade facing the street, which may have originally included a through passage plan.

It stands two storeys high with a total of three windows on the first floor and five on the ground floor, which includes two three-light casements with transoms and leading, as well as three-light casements on the first floor, also with leading. To the far left, there is a glazed door, while off-centre to the right is an impressive early 18th-century stone doorcase. This doorcase has panelled pilasters with scrolls above rusticated responds, topped with a pediment and frieze, and features voussoirs. The entrance includes a five-panel door, which consists of two fielded panels, two glazed panels, and one flush panel.

There is a brick stack on the left, an ashlar stack with capping in the centre, and a brick stack to the right. A cellar is located to the right of the door. The building appears to have been extended approximately 2.5 meters to the right gable, and there is a deep wing at the back on the left. The interior has not been inspected.
