Description
The gate piers and flanking walls, located approximately 90 meters east of Mooracre House, date from around 1840. The gate piers are made of rusticated stone, while the walls are constructed from coursed and squared drystone. The responds are made of plain ashlar. Each pier measures about 600 millimeters square and stands 2 meters high, featuring moulded cappings with urns on top. The responds are also 600 millimeters square and 175 millimeters high, with moulded cappings that have square domed weathered tops. The quadrant walls have flat weathered coping. A modern wooden field gate is present, and the total width of the outer responds is approximately 10.5 meters. These structures appear to be the original piers built for the house, with remnants of the stone responds for the gates still visible.
