Description

Upper Silver Street Farmhouse is an 18th-century farmhouse situated on Silver Street in Coley. It is constructed of squared and coursed stone with a stone slate roof. The building has an L-shaped plan and gable stacks, with a rendered hipped return to the roof. The two-storey road facade has 3-light wood casement windows at each level, and cheese-loft louvres within a square-headed dormer. The return facade to the right mirrors the road facade, but incorporates an additional unit with a 2-light casement above and a 3-light casement below. An entrance door, a plank door, is located in the internal angle on the south front, sheltered by a lean-to roof, and a gabled cheese-loft louvre sits above it. The roof structure is substantial, though the interior has undergone significant modifications.
