Description

Knapp Farmhouse is an early 18th-century dwelling, originally a farmhouse. It is constructed of squared rubble with a stone slate roof. The building has a roughly L-shaped plan, with two wings at the rear. It features a gable stack on the left side and a main stack rising from the ridge, both built of stone. The farmhouse is two storeys high with attics and has three windows on the front elevation. The ground floor windows are modern sashes with segmental heads, while the gables contain 2-light casements. A late 20th-century door and porch have been added.

Inside, the farmhouse retains various chamfered beams and a collar and tie roof structure. An open fire with a bread oven is located to the left of the entrance. A deep wing at the rear was formerly a barn. The property underwent considerable modification in the late 20th century.
