Description
Myles House is a detached dwelling that was formerly a farmhouse, built in 1705 with later alterations in 1913. The house features rough rendering and a stone slate roof. It has a compact three-gabled plan with a wing added at the back on the east side, along with a porch in the internal angle, likely from the 1913 modifications. The building stands two storeys tall with attics and has a three-windowed front. The windows are 2, 3, or 4-light chamfered stone mullioned casements, which have scalloped plaster surrounds that create a smooth surface, similar to the quoins.
To the left of the centre, there is a deep-reveal 6-panel door that is partly glazed and has a moulded stone architrave, probably added in 1913. Above this doorway, there is a plaster relief inscribed with 'I.B.1757', and above the ground floor window in the right gable, there is another panel that reads 'IB 1705 1913 HBW'. The right return wall features a large external stack at the gable terminal and a 1913 door and doorcase, along with two small roof dormers. The left return wall has a plaster panel inscribed with 'IB 1702' and the porch has columns made of cobblestone. Inside, there is a fine open well stair from 1913 designed in the Cotswold Craftsman style.
