Description
The Tea Shop is a shop and house located in Bisley Village, dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 18th and 19th centuries. The building is constructed from coursed and random rubble limestone, featuring ashlar and artificial stone chimneys, and has an asbestos slate roof with concrete tiles at the rear. It is two stories high and has two wings at the rear.
The front of the building includes a shop on the left with a 19th-century shopfront on the ground floor. Above this, there is a two-light chamfered mullioned casement window set in masonry, with a line of a former gable visible. The house section on the right projects slightly forward and likely had a gabled roof in the past. It features single window fenestration with two-light casements, the ground floor window having a hoodmould. The central part of the elevation is recessed and has a three-light window on the ground floor, with a doorway to the right that has a timber lintel and a plank door, and a two-light casement window above it. At the rear, there are two gabled wings, one of which has a chimney with a moulded cap. The interior has not been inspected.
