Description
29 and 31 Woodmancote are two houses built in the late 17th century, which were refronted and altered around 1830. They are constructed from random or coursed rubble limestone with a roughcast finish on the front. The chimneys are made of brick and limestone ashlar, and the houses have a plain tile roof. The buildings are three stories tall, with a two-story rear wing for No. 29 and a gabled wing at the back of No. 31.
The front of the houses features a four-window arrangement, with sixteen-pane sash windows on the ground floor, twelve-pane sash windows on the middle floor, and nine-pane sash windows on the upper floor. The doorways are grouped together, each featuring a six-panel door. There are ridge-mounted chimneys, with one at the north end made of stone and topped with a moulded cap.
At the rear, No. 29 has sash windows and a partially brick-built oven house wing, while No. 31 has 20th-century casements in the gables. The interior of No. 29 includes ogee moulded beams and a large fireplace, along with a sizable bread oven in the wing.
