Description

Woodmancote Cottage is a large detached house dating from the early 18th century, with 19th-century additions. It is constructed from coursed rubble limestone, part random rubble, and features red brick and rendered stone chimneys. The roofs are covered with stone slate and replacement tiles. The building is two stories high with an attic in the front block, and it has a parallel rear range and a wing that forms an L-shape.

The front of the cottage has five windows, all of which are cross-windows with concealed lintels. The ground floor has 20th-century metal casements, while the upper floor features 19th-century timber casements. There is a central doorway with a 20th-century glazed door and a Regency wrought-iron porch. To the right, there is an addition with a hipped roof and plank garage doors, along with a cross-window above on the upper floor. The eaves are moulded, and there are chimneys at the gable ends of the ridge, both made of ashlar with rendered tops. The end gables have small off-centre attic casements. The south end of the cottage contains masonry from an adjoining cottage that has been demolished and shows signs of a raised roof. The rear wing has been altered and extended in brick during the late 19th or early 20th century. The interior has not been inspected.
