Description
Nos 3 and 5 Woodmancote are two houses built around 1840, located in a row. They are constructed of Flemish bond red brick with limestone dressings and have brick chimneys topped with a replacement tile roof. The buildings are three-storey with rear wings.
The front of each house features a two-window arrangement. No 3 has canted single-storey bay windows on either side of a round-arched doorway, which contains a six-panel door with a fanlight above. The right-hand bay has a 15-pane sash window with marginal lights, while the sides have five-pane narrow sashes. The left-hand bay has been altered with 20th-century small-paned casements.
No 5 features an oval-arched doorway with an open timber pediment and pilasters, leading to double panelled doors with a fanlight above. The bay to the right of No 5 remains unaltered like the bay of No 3. The upper floors of both houses have sash windows with stone voussoir lintels; the middle floor has 12-pane sashes, and the upper floor has 9-pane sashes, both with marginal lights. The left-hand sashes of No 3 have been replaced with small-paned 20th-century casements.
The buildings have a moulded stone eaves cornice and a hipped roof with chimneys mounted on the ridge. The rear of the houses is not accessible for inspection, and the interior has not been inspected. No 5 was formerly known as the Bull Inn.
