Description
Fairview is a town house built around 1820 for John Jenkins, a carrier. It is constructed of ashlar limestone, with ashlar and rebuilt brick chimneys, and features a replacement tile roof. The building is three storeys high and has a front with three-window sash fenestration, all featuring plain keyed architraves and linked sills by plain bands. The ground and middle floors have twelve-pane sashes, while the upper floor has nine-pane sashes. Above the pedimented doorway, there are false painted sashes with panelled architraves and a later 19th-century glazed door. The house has a plain stone plinth and corner pilasters, along with a moulded eaves cornice that has end returns. The end gables are plain, with a chimney mounted on the ridge of each. At the rear, there is a tall round-arched staircase sash and twelve-pane sashes with cambered arches. The interior has not been inspected.
