Description
No. 27 Woodmancote is a house in a row, built in the early 18th century and refronted around 1830. It features rubble limestone with roughcast facing on the front elevation, brick chimneys, and a Welsh slate roof. The building has a three-storey rear wing.
The front has a three-window arrangement, with tripartite sashes on the ground floor that do not have glazing bars, a 12-pane sash on the middle floor, and a 6-pane sash on the upper floor. The central doorway is framed by moulded architraves and an open timber pediment, featuring a 19th-century moulded door and narrow sidelights. There are two chimneys mounted on the ridgeline.
At the rear, the sash windows include one with Gothick glazing bars set within a round-arched opening, and a similar sash on the upper floor of the wing. The interior was largely remodelled around 1830, showcasing a staircase with turned balusters and wreathed handrails, along with scroll brackets on the open string.
