Description
The Gate House is a detached house dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century. It is constructed from coursed and dressed stone, featuring alternating quoins and a Cotswold stone slate roof with stone end stacks that have moulded cornices. The building has a large front range and a smaller parallel rear range that dates from the late 18th century. It stands three storeys tall and has three windows, which include some twin casements and others with wood mullion and transom, creating four equal-sized square panes. All windows are leaded and have wood lintels, except for the second-floor windows that are positioned directly under the eaves. The central doorcase features a flat stone hood supported by stone brackets, with a six-panel door where the top two panels are glazed and the rest are fielded. There is a small two-storey wing to the right, which is likely from the early 19th century.
