Description

Two houses, High Walls and Well Hill Cottage, date from the late 17th century with a later 18th-century addition. They are constructed of random rubble limestone, with a brick rebuilt and rendered chimney and a stone slate roof. The earliest part of the property, number 22, is located on the right-hand side and features a full gable with a 2-light chamfered mullioned attic casement, complete with a hoodmould. Below this, there are two windows, also 2-light and with linking hoods. A central doorway leads to a plank door. A blocked doorway is visible to the right, featuring a timber lintel and a small inserted casement. The portion to the left has a 2-window casement arrangement, with a 20th-century porch addition to the left. A lean-to is situated at the southwest end. The rear of the property is built into a steep bank. The interior has not been inspected.
