Description

Three attached houses, dating from the 18th century, with alterations in the 20th century. The front house, No. 8, has roughcast rendering, while Nos. 10 and 12 have painted random rubble stonework. All three have brick chimneys and replacement tile roofs. No. 8 is two storeys with an attic and faces the road. Nos. 10 and 12 are also two storeys and form a rear wing and an L-shaped layout relating to No.8. The front elevation of No. 8 has a three-window arrangement of casement windows, mostly from the 19th century. A central doorway features a glazed door. A single gabled dormer window has been added to the roof. The north side of No. 8 has a roughcast gable end, revealing underlying marlstone rubble, with a single casement window. Nos. 10 and 12 have casement windows, a mixture of 19th and 20th century, with timber lintels above the 19th century windows. Doorways are grouped together and have timber lintels, with 20th-century doors. Two gabled roof dormers are also present. Scattered casement windows are visible in the rear angle. The houses are part of a group that also includes Nos. 14 and 16.
