Description
Little Cottages is a former pair of houses that has been converted into a detached house. It dates from the late 17th century and mid 18th century, with alterations and additions made in the 20th century. The building is constructed from random and coursed rubble limestone, featuring ashlar chimneys and a stone slate roof.
The northeast front has a two-window arrangement, originally with three-light chamfered mullioned casements on each floor to the left. There is a two-light window to the right, while the left ground floor casement has been altered in the 20th century to a timber casement. A central doorway has a concrete lintel and a plank door, with a central timber casement window above it. The rear of the house features two and two-light mullioned casements. Gable end chimneys have chamfered caps.
At the northwest end, there is a flat-roofed single-storey addition from the 20th century, which is not of special interest. The building is included for its group value with The Old Bakehouse.
