Description
The Old Bakehouse is a detached house that dates from the late 17th century, with early 18th century and 19th century additions. It is constructed of ashlar and random rubble limestone, featuring ashlar chimneys and a stone slate roof. The building is two-storey with two rear wings.
The southeast front has a mix of materials, with ashlar on the right and rubble on the left. It has three windows, all of which are 2-light chamfered mullioned leaded casements. There is a gabled porch addition to the right of the center, and gable end chimneys with hollow caps. The rear of the house includes two gabled wings, with a 2-light casement on the right wing and 20th century casements on the left wing. The interior has not been inspected. The Old Bakehouse represents a larger version of the standard late 17th century house type, featuring a two-room plan.
