Description

No. 5 High Street is a shop with a flat above, dating from the 18th century. The building is constructed of brick on a rubble plinth, featuring a moulded stone cornice and a hipped concrete tile roof with brick stacks. The top eight courses of brick are made from a different type of brick. It is square in shape and has two storeys. Originally, there were seven windows, but now only four remain, with three of the alternate windows blocked. The windows are 12-pane sashes with segmental heads. The ground floor has several blocked openings at the front and on the right-hand return, along with a large 20th-century shop front.
