Description
The Berkeley Arms Hotel is a hotel built in the late 18th century. It features a brick structure set on a stone plinth made of two courses, topped with a slate roof that has a brick dentil cornice and three brick chimneys. The building has painted stone string courses at the first floor level and brick string courses at the second floor level. The main front range is complemented by two rear extensions used for stables, creating a U-shape. The hotel is three storeys high and has six bays, with five of them being symmetrical and an additional recessed bay on the left. The windows are 12-pane sashes with cemented voussoirs and an enlarged dropped keystone. The central entrance features a basket arch with a keystone and imposts, along with a recessed revolving door that is topped by a large painted canopy displaying the Berkeley coat of arms.
