Description
No. 14 High Street is a small house that is part of a terrace, dating from the late 17th century. It features incised render, likely over a timber frame, and has a double Roman tile roof with a raised central hip. At the center rear, there is a very large square panelled brick stack. The building was probably originally jettied, but the ground floor has since been filled in. It stands two storeys high and has two windows, which are 4-pane sashes with segmental heads and moulded architraves. The ground floor includes a half-glazed door on the right with a flush-panelled base, a large central plate glass shop window with a moulded wood cornice, a second half-glazed door with two fielded panels at the base, and a plate glass window to the far left. There are signs of a probable original bressumer beam beneath the render.
